The MHSA put on a great contest yesterday and everyone had a great time. Some people who won cash had an even better time. Those guys would be:
1. Dustin Montie ($5,000)
2. Riley Boland ($1,000)
3. Josh Peterson ($300)

Jeff Kent kick back tail.

The guys from the Medicine Hat Skateboard Association are putting on another contest on Canada Day. This year they’re offering up $5,000 for first place. Yikes!

Go Skatbeoarding Day 2008 was a success! Hundreds came out and shredded the streets (and mall!). Here are some shots:

The BBQ at Artlife started off pretty mellow.

We constructed a ghetto kicker that Jeff got down on.

Then the mob showed up.

Mall-grabber too.

Another junky ramp was built. So fun.

Some more ramp action.

After the crowd left, the ramp morphed into a sick pole jam.

The rain let up enough over the weekend for a mission deep into the Northeast. I’d scoped some banks from Deerfoot Trail and we went to check them. Well, the banks that I’d seen weren’t good at all but we found this gem. Someone had already done all the work for us in regards to waxing and taking the rails out. Thanks!

My bro had to work for this tailslide. I came away empty-handed.

After a great weekend weather-wise, it looks like the rain is here to stay all week. Weak.
Calgary isn’t known for its rain. It isn’t known for its indoor/covered/dry skate spots either. Here’s a recent one of Zor getting up in the pipe on Sheppard road. Photo by Tim Smith.
