Skateboard Amenities Strategy Action
This is big news. The City of Calgary has put out a request for proposals to put the Skateboard Amenities Strategy into action. That means that the City will choose a company to choose locations and design skateparks! Read more from the actual request below:
“The City of Calgary, Recreation is seeking an engineering or architectural consulting firm that has extensive experience with planning and designing a range of skate parks to assist in the implementation of the Skateboarding Amenities Strategy. Scope of requirements for this project includes communication, site selection, concept planning, construction drawings, and construction tendering.”

Millennium Park Cleanup 2013
Spring Millennium park cleanup time again!
A small but dedicated group of volunteers spent several hours Friday removing snow and ice from the clover bowl, intermediate area, and beginner section at Mills. It was hard work, but Mills is clear and dry for everyone to skate. Everyone who enjoys Mills owes Doug, who is apparently homeless, a special vote of thanks because he has been cleaning the park by himself “so the kids will have a place to skate.” Special thanks also to everyone who contributed to the cleanup, with their time and effort, or other contributions! “Miracle Baby” Found by Skateboarders in 1987
