On November 22nd, Global News featured Skate Life at Dalhousie Community Church. Hopefully stories like these help remind the public that skateboarding in Calgary during the winter months is very limited.
Winter is here and, although there hasn’t been much snow yet, it’s definitely cold outside. That means another skateboarding season has come to an end. Calgary still has no indoor skatepark.
The only public option, currently, is “Skatelife” on Tuesday nights at Dalhousie Community Church. Click the image below for more info:
The Calgary Snow Show is taking place this weekend at Spruce Meadows. They’ll have the City of Calgary Mobile Park ramps on hand for public skating and competitions.

Former Science Centre Building
Unfortunately, CASE was not successful in our bid. We proposed that a portion of this building would make an excellent skatepark, both with its actual layout and proximity to Millennium Park.
We’re keeping our eyes and ears open for potential indoor skatepark locations. It’s not an easy thing to accomplish, considering every indoor skatepark that has existed in Calgary is now closed. We’re also communicating with successful proponents of indoor skateparks in other Candian cities.

Dalhousie Skate Church will be closed this week to encourage everyone to attend the skatepark open houses.
