It was snowing at the Canmore park on Friday. We still had fun though. They unveiled plans for their new Newline park that could be under construction as soon as next summer. Check them out here.
Another nearby town that’s in a similar situation as Canmore is Langdon (bad park, good one on the way). Spectrum has planned out the park but have not yet broken ground so the “Langdon Lumps” are still skateable. Barely.
Strathmore is another place that will have a great park very soon. Newline is currently building this park so we’ll be able to skate it before the snow comes. Check the design here.

Short notice here, but the Source Canmore is going to be hosting a fundraising jam session tomorrow at the Canmore skatepark. Of course this park is not the greatest, but that’s the reason for tomorrow’s event– to raise awareness that a new park is needed. I’m not sure what “pros” will be there but I know some of the Source team will be skating.

A nice little “street-spot” was recently completed in Black Diamond (about 20 minutes south of Calgary). Finally, there’s another reason to go there besides getting fireworks!
