You may know the Sled Island music festival as a place to see a lot of non-mainstream musicians and up-and-coming bands. This year, they’ve added skateboarding to the mix. There will be a block party in the East Village on June 21st. This also happens to be Go Skateboarding Day! It’s shaping up to be a great event and runs from 4PM-10PM. Erica from Artschool Skateboards went out to Okotoks to do a skateboard clinic for girls. It was a basic introduction to skateboarding, getting them familiarized with the basics of skateboarding.
Some CASE representatives went out to Dalhousie Church to help judge Snake and Destroy 2 on Saturday. The set-up was solid, as was the field of competitors. In the end, the three categories broke down like this:
If you haven’t checked out the new park in Lacombe yet, it’s definitely worth the trip. It’s about 15 minutes north of Red Deer and the park is located just off the highway.
