Congratulations to Riley Boland
Riley won the Hastings Bowl Jam in Vancouver last weekend, beating out a bunch of well-known Vancouver locals. Way to go, Riley. Check out Concrete Skateboarding for more coverage.

If you haven’t hit up the skatepark at Westside Rec Centre yet, you should. By all accounts, it’s far better than the old Westside park. Granted, it’s not concrete, but the mini ramp rivals the now-defunct Source Skatepark ramp.
Here are the hours:
Until September 2nd 10AM – 9PM
September 2nd to September 30th Monday to Friday 4PM – 8PM
Weekends 10AM – 8PM
Holidays 10AM – 8PM
Helmets are required at all times and it’s free to skate there. Skateboards only. The address is 2000 69 St SW. The skatepark is behind the rec centre, adjacent to the soccer field.
Concrete Skateboarding posted Rob Thorpe’s clip of Jason Crolly skating some Calgary spots a few years ago. Rob’s got some gems on his Youtube page.
Keegan Callahan is a former Calgary skater who now lives and skates in Edmonton. He and his brother Luke were behind a series of videos called Norbeece. Photographer Dave Bloom took some nice photos of Keegan while Luke did the interview. Click the photo below to check them out:
