According to a recent City of Calgary memo, Millennium park’s hours of operation are changing temporarily. See below:
• The Planetarium, formerly occupied by the TELUS World of Science, is being used to accommodate Calgarians displaced by the recent flood whose building requires repair before being reoccupied.
• Shaw Millennium Park will be amending park hours of operation temporarily to provide these evacuees greater privacy and quiet.
• Shaw Millennium Park will change its hours as of July 15th, 2013, to operate from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
• These hours are consistent with all other regional parks.
• To help communicate the new hours of operation signs in the park will be updated as well as information on calgary.ca.
• This is being done as a temporary measure for the balance of 2013.
• The impact to park users will be assessed and evaluated during this period.
• For more information on Shaw Millennium Park visit calgary.ca/parks.

LTBK St Jude/Woodcreek Recreation Area has posted an update on their blog regarding their “skatepark”. They say on their blog, “We were not able to obtain a development permit in time to proceed with building.”
Definitely check out their site/blog to learn more about this proposed/future mobile park development. Once again, we want to stress that CASE does not support the development of this park as it does not fall in line with the Skateboard Amenities Strategy.
